My dad told his family about my separation but didn't mention the reason for it.
I can't imagine what it's like to be the only liberal in a conservative family. I don't think I'd want to have that conversation with any of them, so I can't really criticize his desire to avoid it.
But I hope, when the whole truth eventually comes out (pun intended), that he'll stick up for me.
