wednesday & thursday were perfect. 70 degrees, sunny, wore a t-shirt, played with my dog in the yard for hours. awesome. spring had sprung.
by friday morning, the wind had picked up and the temperature had dropped 40 degrees. then it hailed. or sleeted, i don't know the difference. either way, little balls of ice were bouncing off my car. i never put much stock in deities, but if there is a god, i imagine he's up there right now with a big smartass grin on his face, giving maryland the middle finger.
but despite the mood drop that occurs with inclement weather, i think the meds are working. i don't feel "happier" exactly. the biggest change is that i'm getting things done faster. the pills seem to have shrunk my procrastination time. this is actually one of the reasons that i was prescribed this particular drug. i'd told the doc about my borderline ADD and he said that wellbutrin targets some of the same areas as ritalin, so it should help some with concentration and focus. what i'm noticing is that, when there's something unpleasant that has to be done, i still have my initial "ugh, i don't want to deal with that" feeling. but that feeling used to be followed by days or weeks of procrastination, depending on the task. recently, the distance between "ugh" and "oh well, i've got to do this" has been much more reasonable. so annoying emails at work are being put off for an hour or so, instead of all day. and annoying chores around the house are being put off for a day, not three weeks. it's a new experience for me. i'm interested to see where it leads.
