they have the internet on computers now!

since the internet wasn't really a fixture in our society until i was already in high school, i still have occasional moments where i'm floored by the astounding ease, speed & convenience of it and the ways it makes my life happier. i'm sad to say that these moments are almost never connected with larger issues like community, democracy or anything deep and/or idealistic. usually, they're just about finding some piece of current pop-culture tripe, or evidence of pop-culture tripe from my childhood. i have no problem admitting that nostalgia & humor were the main reasons i ditched dial-up.

i had one of these moments yesterday at work. we were sitting around talking about funny commercials. in the days before the internet, i would've tried to explain my favorite commerical to my coworkers and most likely would have butchered it. but instead i just looked it up on youtube and showed it to everyone. see? tragedy averted.

thank you, interblogowebosphere for bringing people closer together...and closer to funny beer commercials. isn't technology wonderful?

and since you're going to ask, here's my favorite commerical:
