oh tannenbaum...

i was telling catherine about our christmas tree and she wanted to see pictures, so here goes. most of our ornaments are, understandably, penguin-themed. and that's great, but we decided that steve's interests should get equal representation. so this year we dug up some new tree decorations.

here's the tree in all its glory:



looks pretty normal until we zoom in for a closer look. we'll start at the top, with the "angel":



notice that the angel/penguin is wearing iPod ear buds.

some other highlights include the obligatory millennium falcon...



...and a circuit board.



the ornament to the left of the circuit board is my new favorite, the psycho snowflake. it was a gift from my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. nicely done, guys!

next, we have an actual, obsolete iPod:



and of course, no symbol of christmas would be complete without the One Ring:



next year, we'll decorate with beer cans and poker chips.
it's the most wonderful time of the year...
