i wish i was clever enough to rework my myspace profile so it would always say my last login was on 6/6/06 cuz, let's face it, yesterday was awesome and here's why:
1) i kicked off the day with a rather eye-opening therapy session.
2) mom called & said that dad's surgery went fine.
3) time of the wolf's first show was badass.
that last one deserves some subcategories:
- what a deliciously eeevil date.
- oh, the novelty of kids in corpse paint.
- i got to watch my friend turn into a fucking rockstar before my eyes.
there's something so incredible about watching a friend perform...i'd almost forgotten that thrill since it's been so many years since i've had friends in a band. it was different in music school, partly because i saw those people perform almost daily but also because i only knew them in that context. but when you know someone for awhile and then see them perform, it's indescribably uplifting...even if they're playing songs about death & darkness. :) you just feel this surge of pride because you know this person and when the crowd is really into it, it's like you're in on a secret.
that's not quite right, but i'm blanking on metaphors right now. i should have just said it was awesome and left it at that. but you know me, it's more my style to get overly verbose and end up sounding like a tool.
so, yeah, it was a good day.
